HIKING Guide

You'll lead guided hikes through the coastal canyons, ridgelines, and state parks around South OC — think sunrise hikes, corporate group outings, and half-day treks with families.

The trail is the easy part. What we need is someone who can pace a group with wildly different fitness levels, keep people engaged with what they're actually looking at, and read when someone is struggling before they say so.

What we're looking for:

Solid knowledge of local trail systems and the ability to route a hike to a group's ability Comfortable managing groups of up to [X] guests Working knowledge of local plants, wildlife, and coastal ecology — guests ask constantly Heat, hydration, and turn-around judgment Your own pack, footwear, and layers

Physical requirements: covering several miles on uneven terrain, carrying a group pack with water and first aid.

FOOD TOUR Guide

You'll walk groups through our food tours in San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach and Balboa, and Manhattan Beach — multiple stops, multiple tastings, and a few hours of history, neighborhood context, and good conversation in between.

This role is part guide, part host, part storyteller. Our restaurant partners are relationships we've built over years, so you're representing us to them as much as to the guests. Timing is everything: you're keeping a group on schedule across four or five kitchens without ever making it feel rushed.

What we're looking for:

Genuinely engaging in front of a group — this is a talking job Real knowledge of, or real appetite to learn, the neighborhood's history and food scene Professional, warm, and reliable with our restaurant partners Comfortable handling dietary restrictions, allergies, and last-minute guest counts Able to be on your feet and walking for 3+ hours Prior serving, bartending, hospitality, or tour guiding experience is a plus

BEER TOUR Guide

You'll lead our brewery tours through South OC, Costa Mesa, Anaheim, and Huntington Beach — multiple breweries, guided tastings, and the stories behind the beer and the people making it.

We're looking for someone who can talk about a hazy IPA without being insufferable about it. You'll be pouring knowledge into a group that ranges from certified beer nerds to people who mostly just like being out on a Saturday, and you need to land with both.

What we're looking for:

Must be 21+ Solid working knowledge of beer styles, brewing process, and the Orange County brewery scene Confident, personable public speaker Comfortable managing guest alcohol consumption and making the call when someone's had enough Professional relationships with our brewery partners [Valid, clean driving record and comfort driving a passenger van/shuttle — include this line if the position involves transporting guests] Cicerone certification or brewery/taproom experience is a major plus

EBIKE Guide

Guides will be leading guests on tours that range from 1-4 hours long. Must be knowledgable about bikes as you might be required to repair a flat or adjust breaks and handlebars along the tour. You will be responsible for greeting guests, setting up eBikes before the tour and making sure eBikes are properly charged and stored after the tour. Major plus if you own your own eBike and are familiar with the area!

SURF Instructor

You'll teach 1-2 hour lessons to groups of 1–20 guests, from total first-timers to people knocking rust off. Most lessons run out of Monarch Bay Beach Club in Dana Point and Balboa Bay Resort in Newport Beach.

You should be a capable, confident surfer who genuinely understands the ocean — tides, rips, sandbars, and when a session needs to be called. Teaching ability matters more than your own skill ceiling. We'd rather have a solid surfer who's great with people than a standout who can't explain a pop-up.

What we're looking for:

Strong, confident ocean surfer with real local water knowledge Comfortable teaching complete beginners, including nervous adults and kids Your own wetsuit (we provide boards and guest gear) On site 10 minutes before each scheduled lesson Available on call for a set number of peak days during the season

Physical requirements: carrying boards to and from the beach, rinsing and storing equipment after lessons, and being in and out of the water for consecutive lessons.

STANDUP PADDLEBOARD (SUP) Instructor

You'll lead paddleboard lessons and flatwater tours out of Dana Point Harbor, Newport Harbor, and the surf-side beach breaks depending on conditions. Sessions run from a single instructional hour up to longer guided paddles.

Good SUP guides read conditions before the group does — wind shifts, boat traffic, current — and they can get someone from wobbling on their knees to standing and smiling inside of twenty minutes.

What we're looking for:

Proficient paddler comfortable in both harbor and open-ocean conditions Able to coach balance, stance, and stroke technique to first-timers Confident assisting a guest back onto a board in deep water Your own wetsuit Comfortable managing a group of paddlers spread across open water

Physical requirements: carrying and loading SUPs (they're heavy and they catch wind), rinsing and storing equipment.

KAYAK Guide

You'll lead guided paddles along the Dana Point and Laguna coastline — sea caves, coves, kelp beds, and the marine protected areas. Tours run 1.5–3 hours with groups of mixed ability, and a good portion of your guests will have never been in a kayak.

This is as much a safety role as a guiding one. You're the one deciding whether the group goes past the headland today, and you're the one getting somebody back in their boat if they go over.

What we're looking for:

Experienced ocean kayaker comfortable in swell, wind, and surf entries/exits Confident performing assisted re-entries and rescues Able to keep a spread-out group together and paddling at a workable pace Knowledge of local marine life, tide pools, and coastal geology is a major plus Comfortable making the call to turn a group around

Physical requirements: loading, carrying, and launching kayaks; assisting guests in and out of boats; hauling gear across sand.
