Monarch Bay Beach Club stand-up paddleboard lessons and tours allow you to experience a secluded headland and cove in Dana Point few people get to see for themselves.

Monarch’s private cove is brimming with sea life and biodiversity and is one of the most picturesque gems of southern California. Explore the ocean with the help of Expert Active’s staff of experienced and safety certified instructors, who will have you up and paddling in no time, teaching you about the surrounding area as well as offering paddleboarding techniques.

Great for beginners and experienced paddlers alike -- no prior experience necessary!

All lessons come with a paddledboard, paddles, PFD (lifevest), and instructor. Wetsuits are available to rent for an additional $25 (a discount from our normal rental pricing of 63%)

Cancellation Policy

• Please provide all cancellation notices by either texting 949.594.2202 or emailing monarch@expertactive.com

  • FULL REFUND: 12 hours > notice

  • 50% REFUND or RESCHEDULE: 6 hours > notice

  • NO REFUND: 2 hours > notice (but you may reschedule for a +$30 fee)

  • NO REFUND: 2 hours < notice

• The ocean and weather are constantly changing and our instructors cannot control the conditions. Sometimes the waves are calm and other times they are on the rough side -- welcome to surfing! We assure you that instructors will keep you safe and make an effort to show you a good time, no matter what. 

  We reserve the right to change any itinerary to match existing conditions. If we must cancel due to unsafe or unsuitable weather or sea conditions (as determined by our staff and/or lifeguards), you will have your choice of RESCHEDULING or a FULL REFUND. We are not responsible for non-refundable hotel or transportation costs. If a customer desires to end the lesson early he or she will not receive a refund.
